Sign the “Bike Is Best” petition to support better cycling infrastructure – We Are
While we all want to get back to normal as soon as possible, it would be great to get back to a better normalcy – one where you can work from home when it makes sense, or one where all the people who have rediscovered the fun of biking are. Don’t hurry off the roads by returning traffic.
The number of cyclists exploded during the lockdown. Partly because it was a way of avoiding public transport. Partly because it’s a lot cheaper than buying a car to avoid public transport. And partly because if you have one outing a day to exercise, you might as well make the most of it with a long bike ride on almost empty roads.
We are convinced that everyone who has adopted it has discovered that the bicycle is a surprisingly fast way of getting around, often faster than any other form of transport, as well as a great way to get out and enjoy the sun and the mountains. ‘add a little good. activity to life in confinement that we experienced during confinement.
To try and get more people to cycle, local councils have taken many short-term measures such as temporary cycle lanes. However, there is no guarantee that these will be kept in place. TO Coach we would like these to become permanent additions – we are looking at reducing air pollution and improving the health and wellbeing of people that the country could benefit from with more people riding bicycles. And with more people on bikes and less in cars, we bet there would be less congestion for the cars on the road.
If you are ok with this, it is essential that we make our feelings known so that local councils can rest assured that they have the support of the people they work for. An easy way to do this is to sign the Bike Is Best Petition. This is part of a campaign by a collection of leading cycling lawyers and brands and it asks if you will put your name on this simple statement:

According to research independently conducted by YouGov on behalf of the Bike Is Best campaign, the majority of people want it. This research found that 77% of Britons support measures in their region to encourage cycling and walking, and 80% of those who expressed a preference want streets to be redesigned to protect pedestrians and cyclists from motorists.
Perhaps more importantly, 51% agree that they would be riding more bikes if these changes were made. People want to ride a bike – they just want to feel safe, and better infrastructure that makes cycling the more obvious and easy choice is at the heart of it.
Will you join us in trying to make this happen in sign the petition? We hope.
