CFN takes delivery of cycling equipment from Byke division tour operator
The Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) has taken delivery of cycling equipment from the Italian group, Byke Division Tour Operator, worth millions of naira for the development of sport in the country.
The Italy-based group gesture was made possible thanks to former Italian cyclist and road cyclist for the UCI professional team, Andrea Tonti, who during his professional cycling career championed the group course in advocating for support for the local development of cycling around the world.
Items donated are bicycle spare parts, inner tubes, tires, riding vest, tracksuit, wheel disc, skin suit, riding shoes, gloves, headband and a helmet.
Upon receiving the equipment, CFN President Giandomenico Massari congratulated the group led by Tonti for their support and said the equipment would further help the federation to develop grassroots sports.
“Cycling equipment will go a long way in fostering the growth of cycling at the grassroots and in Nigeria in general.
“We are taking stock of all the equipment and there are so many of them but by tomorrow we could have checked everything that was sent to us, however, we are totally grateful for what he has done for the growth of the cycling in Nigeria “he said.
Meanwhile, the second group of the Nigerian cycling team will depart on Saturday for Cairo, Egypt, for the UCI Junior Track World Championship.
